Company

At Storvik, we are committed to continuous improvement—reducing our environmental impact while creating long-term value for our customers, employees, and society.

Since 2021, we have systematically measured and assessed our carbon footprint. This work has been an important part of our sustainability journey, providing valuable insight into our greenhouse gas emissions and helping us identify where we can make the greatest impact.

Today, we are proud to announce that Storvik’s climate targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a globally recognized framework for corporate climate action.

As part of this commitment, Storvik has set a target to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 54.6% by 2033, using 2023 as the base year. In addition, we are committed to measuring and reducing our Scope 3 emissions across our value chain.

The SBTi validation confirms that our targets are aligned with climate science and provides Storvik with a clear framework for turning our ambitions into measurable action.

For Storvik, this milestone represents more than a climate commitment. It reflects our ambition to integrate sustainability into how we operate, invest, innovate, and collaborate with customers and suppliers. We recognize that achieving meaningful emissions reductions requires action throughout the value chain, and we are committed to working together with our stakeholders to drive positive change.

“Having our climate targets validated by SBTi is an important milestone, but the real work lies ahead. We now have a clear, science-based direction for reducing our emissions and strengthening sustainability across our operations and value chain. This gives us both a responsibility and an opportunity to work even more closely with our customers, suppliers, and employees to turn our ambitions into measurable progress,” says Siri Sande, Chief Marketing and Sustainability Officer at Storvik.

Stein Kjartan Vik, CEO of Storvik, adds:

“This validation reinforces the direction we have set for Storvik. Sustainability is an integral part of how we develop our business and create long-term value. By setting clear and measurable targets, we are strengthening our ability to make responsible decisions today while building a more competitive and resilient Storvik for the future.”

The SBTi validation is an important step in Storvik’s sustainability journey and one that strengthens our commitment to continuous improvement. With clear targets in place, our focus now is on action: reducing emissions, collaborating across our value chain, and contributing to a more sustainable future for our industry and the generations to come.
