During furnace skimming in the casthouse, aluminium metal becomes trapped in the dross. Storvik’s dross and drain pan concept enables efficient metal recovery without the need for pressing.
Our solution separates aluminium from the dross, allowing customers to recover up to 20% of the total dross weight. This recovered metal can be re-melted on site and returned directly to the casthouse furnace.
In addition, reducing dross volume can lower transport requirements, helping customers achieve up to 20% savings in transport costs to external dross treatment facilities.
